So sorry, it's really hard for me to catch up with the blog/projects I've been working on/school. It's actually a little overwhelming, hahah.
Recently I took in a little extra cash tutoring this nice elderly man in my Photoshop class. I've been kind of working as his tech assistant too, hah ha. Things that are common sense to me - are difficult for him to grasp. Which I totally understand! That's why I'm here to help. =)
So my mom and I together decided to splurge a lot of money and we bought a few tools that I've been really wanting.
First off, I got the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper, ohhh I know that everybody talks about it - and I LOVE it! I'm so happy I finally have something to make my own finished edges on my mini albums/chipboard projects. I will definitely be keeping my EK Success Corner Rounder though, a nice way to make larger scallops!
We also bought the 32 pack of Jacquard Pearl Ex. I still need to get some gum arabic, but I'm planning to make a trip to my local [more like 30 minute away, but it's really close to school] art supply shop anyways! I need to get some mattboard & thought I'd pick up some gum arabic while there. And maybe do a little more .. shopping.

The biggest splurge though [which one goes with the other, so I'll mention the first thing] .... I got a Cuttlebug!! I've been thinking about getting the green one at Michaels and use a 50% off coupon, but I saw on CustomCrops.com that they had the BLUE ONE in stock! I was SOOOOOOOO excited - I had to have it, blue i my favorite color and my whole room is blue & white themed [even before it become a mainly scrapbooking room] ... I really wanted the cuttlebug to emboss, but I really wanted to try out Donna Salazar's dictionary flowers, but didn't have a scalloped circle die ...
So my mom & I decided to get the pack of 4 Nesties, the Large & Small circles & then the Classic Scalloped circles in large & small. I've been cutting a ton of things with these dies already! Hahah, I've had a blast!!

Those 4 things cost quite a bit of money [especially the Nestabilities and Cuttlebug. .. but I'm so happy that I got them! I made some projects the past two days playing with all the different products I bought *Besides the PearlEx*
Here are 2 projects I worked on ...

A door hanger I made using leftover chipboard from an album my mom is working on for her friend. I made one of the Donna Salazar dictionary flowers and used my Cricut + Make The Cut to cut out my name using the font ChopinScript which can be downloaded for free on DaFont! I just modpodged the letters onto the painted chipboard! The font has a lot of thin lines so I used my Cricut spatula, which I also bought along with the Cuttlebug from CustomCrops. Wow! I can't believe I didn't get that thing sooner. LOL! I had a lot of fun making this, it's fairly simple, but I love it! I hung the sign on my door with a tiny nail that came with these hinges from Big Lots, and covered the nailhead with a rhinestone [LOVE Bling!], I used some light blue pearl string to hang it on the nail.
This is a birdhouse! Obviously!!! Well it could be any really adorable house actually. Hahha, I was searching for templates online because I was looking for fun projects, and found this post on Nichole Heady's blog: here! This is by far the most adooorable birdhouse I've ever seen - I had to give it a try. Although it's not exactly ... perfect ... it looks great for my first attempt [being alittle optimistic, ha ha] My favorite colors *maybe I haven't mentioned this* are blue & brown. The roof is made out of that gemstone paper from Joanns. The house is made of patterened paper I think from a collection by DCWV. Possibly the summer one, not sure. I made a fluffy tissue paper flower using small scalloped circle diecuts. I admit, this was a pain to put together, but I love it! can be used as a box with the second layer of the roof opening =] I would have made the second layer the complete width of the first but I didn't have enough of that cardstock - ha ha. I used a trick I learned on Marion's prima show about gluing some coins on the flap of the opening and it really keeps the thing shut! =) I used 3 pennies and covered it with some more tissue paper scalloped circles. I used one of the smaller circle nesties [I'm not sure which set it was from, or what size it is] to cut out the hole in the front of the house - it was way easier then trying to put a paper punch in there! Plus I didn't have the right size punch anyways.
I'm excited to be working on some more projects & getting to share them with you all! I know I don't have very many blog readers - ha ha, but I just wanted to thank those of you who do follow me!! I really appreciate it!
Until next time *which I hope won't be too long from now!*
